The issue.
If you sign up for a one month, 3 month, or annual membership it will automatically be set to auto-renew, and if you remove you’re billing information Microsoft will still charge the old card. You can not cancel or turn off auto-renewal through the XBOX 360 or on Microsoft’s XBOX Live website, account page, or support page - you can only alter the subscription type.
What you will need.
You will need to have the XBOX Live Gamertag, your last 4 digits of the credit card on file with Microsoft that is associated with the Gamertag and service, the telephone number associated with the card and the billing address for your credit card handy to tell them over the phone.
What to confirm.
They will ask you if you want to transfer the account to another person, be certain you say no and that you want to keep your account active but that you want auto-renew turned off so your account is set to downgrade to Silver by itself. Confirm this with the operator before you hang up.
